ESL Teacher Opportunities:

If you are a native English-speaker from either UK & Ireland, Canada, USA, Australia or New Zealand, then Maple Leaf Education is looking to employ ESL teachers to provide English language lessons to Chinese students. The ESL teacher will be responsible for planning lessons and activities, adopting a creative approach, and encouraging and motivating students to learn.

To be a successful ESL teacher, you should be able to create an environment that is conducive to learning. Ultimately, an exceptional ESL teacher will encourage students to interact with each other to improve their English-speaking skills.

ESL Teacher General Responsibilities:

  • Conducting activities and lessons based on ESL teaching methodologies, using the Maple Leaf ESL Curriculum & resources
  • Encouraging and engaging students to speak in English.
  • Motivating students and using humor to induce a pleasant learning environment.
  • Maximizing students’ talk time through oral tests and presentations.
  • Displaying excellent classroom management.
  • Keeping accurate records of student performance.
  • Communicating with the ESL Coordinator or Principal, as needed.
  • Maintaining standardized guidelines.

ESL Teacher Essential Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Hold a passport from either the UK & Ireland, Canada, USA, Australia or New Zealand.
  • TEFL/TESOL (min 120 hours) or equivalent certification.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Neutral English accent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to teach students of all ages and from different backgrounds.
  • Display patience and cultural awareness.

Please note: This is a general opening, and not for a specific Maple Leaf Campus. Specific vacancy information will be provided at interview by the Director of Recruitment.  We are looking to hire ESL Teachers for a number of Maple Leaf schools, starting August 2025.
